The more you read about the GS8 the more disappointed I get when you
realize the only difference is the remote.Even it's not worth the
hassle. So much for the third generation of GTV! Well at least they will
do what Microshaft never did for us.Gave us a real browser upgrade!

Lol!

Same here. I just put to rest my Logitech Revue. It served me well, but
something went wrong internally & it started to sound like a race car
revving. It was louder than my air conditioner. Then my Belkin Router
went haywire and gave up the ghost after only 5 months. Good Riddance!

My cable company jumped from an easily manageable $174.00 to $215.00. So
cable is history. Hasn't been a very good two weeks for me tech-wise.
Now to find out the GS8 is a replica of the GS7...

Good news is I settled on a Netgear DOCSIS 3.0 11-N Data Gateway Cable
Modem + Router. This, unlike the Belkin comes w/a two year warranty &
cable support.

So, guess I'll just have to wait & see what's coming down the road...

------------------------------------------------------------------------
I took off all the apps on the Revue and put it on my TV in the
bedroom.Just use it now for casual browsing. We know that Google has
another streaming device in the works and Amazon has one too. Most of us
former webtv'ers love the idea of the updated browser on the TV.Like you
after the let down feeling just gonna have to develop a wait and see
attitude to see which direction Google and the manufacturers are going
to take.Don't really trust those fly by night jokers selling those
android units from China.Yeah the specs sound good but what about
service after the sale.Gosh remember when everything said,"Made in
Taiwan."Well when Jellybean and Chrome finally arrives we'll see then!

At this point I don't know whether these conversations are still relevant, what say you Carl? I saved a few of the conversations, should I go ahead and post 'em too?

Hi

I think most of this is sufficient to give folks unfamiliar w/GTV an idea of what it is and the folks who may need help a place to look at the old posts. Ya did a great job and thanks a lot. The Google TV update everyone was so excited about fell flat so I'm beginning to look toward Android as a whole.

We'll see...
