PostSubject: FLASH QUESTION   Wed Jun 24, 2009 4:55 pm

I have read in other posts that the msntv2 can never get flash 10 because of our limited memory. I believe that we now have flash 6 or 7 ? Is there enough memory for a flash 8 or 9 (if there is such a thing) to be installed ? This might move us ahead somewhat !!

I, too, have heard that our units don't have enough storage space for Flash 9 or 10. However, I've also read that a modified version of Flash, called Flash Lite, might indeed be workable in the Deuce. Whether or not we'll ever see a Flash upgrade is a "wait and see" game which we've been playing for a long time now.

I recently received my new free MSNTV2 from Microsoft. It has 257mb of flash memory. The original one only had 64. Does this mean I could have a better chance to get updated Flash?

Anyone know?

If I recall correctly, I read in the web-nuts.com forum that the 257mb does nothing to improve the service because the system is programed only for 64mb so the extra mb's do nothing. This was written by a person who has a new unit with the 257mb enhancement and was working with it to see if there was any difference.

This sounds logical to me because the entire msntv2 software program is on servers at MSN and coding and software is geared for the 64/128mg boxes which is about 99 percent of the existing units.

The above comments are just my best guess; I'm not a tech nor do I have any inside info about this matter.

That is where TV2's upgrades/data is stored. The bigger card means more room for future(are we getting any?) upgrades but does not mean it'll handle more Flash.
Flash works with the Main memory, which is still at 64mb.
